Fall 2016

TBP Member Fellowships

Tau Beta Pi offers 30 fellowships for full-time graduate study in 2016-2017, each in the amount of $10,000. Only Tau Beta Pi members are eligible. Applications open December 10th 2016, and the deadline is February 1st, 2017.

Outstanding Freshman and Sophomore Award

Current Sophomores and Juniors are eligible

The purpose of this award is to acknowledge students who have been active in various capacities during their freshman or sophomore year at the university. The award is given by the Illinois Alpha Chapter of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society whose motto is integrity and excellence in engineering. Tau Beta Pi encourages its members to be involved in service and liberal culture activities. You DO NOT need to be a member of Tau Beta Pi to apply for this award. The award carries a monetary award of $250. One award will be given for service during the sophomore, defined here as your second year of post-secondary study, and one for freshman year, your first year regardless of hours earned. The application can be downloaded here. Please return to 111 Engineering Hall by Thursday December 1, 2016.

Outstanding Member and Initiate Award

The Outstanding Member & Outstanding Initiate Awards are $500 awards given out each semester. Applications are due by Thursday December 1, 2016. The applications can be accessed here. We encourage everyone to apply! Please contact Rohini Gupta (rsgupta3@illinois.edu) with any questions.

Spring 2017

Harold and Ruth Hayward Scholarships

Through the generosity of Ruth and Harold Hayward, the College of Engineering and Tau Beta Pi are able to offer several $3000/year scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year. Current sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply. High preference will be given to TBP members. If awarded for the junior year, the scholarship can be renewed for the senior year. Hayward scholarships are given to outstanding engineering students on the basis of academic achievement, service, leadership, and initiative. The application can be obtained here under "General Scholarships". The application and supporting materials are due the Friday before Spring Break (March 17, 2017).

TBP Member Scholarships

Tau Beta Pi offers over 15 different scholarships nationally, each in the amount of $2000 for full-time undergraduate senior-year study in 2016-2017. 210 scholarships were given out last year. Only Tau Beta Pi members are eligible. The application deadline is April 1st, 2017. You must be a member of TBP at the time of application for these scholarships.
