Initiates must earn at least 7 points (initiate social counts as 1) in order to initiate into Tau Beta Pi. Members who want to maintain Distinguished Active Membership must earn 7 points per semester, 2 of which must come from chapter administration activities.
There are three categories of points: social, professional, and service. Each can be earned through various events detailed in the newsletters and Calendar.
