Welcome to Illinois Alpha’s Project Database Portal! We know that long PDF’s of Project Reports aren’t the most efficient way to search for new projects for your chapter, so we created this portal so that chapter officers can easily sort by different criteria to find what best fits their chapter.
To use the portal, simply filter by whatever criteria you are looking for. If you have no preference, please select the “Any X” option in the dropdown menu. You can also select multiple criteria at a time, for example, saying you want a professional event that costs less than $20 for 11-25 people. A brief description of each of the criteria is below
Project Type
- Chapter Administration – Events related to running the chapter as a whole
- Initiation – Events required for initiates to attend to join Tau Beta Pi
- Social – Fun, community building events such as board game nights and trivia nights
- Professional – Events that provide professional development opportunities for the chapter such as resume reviews, LinkedIn workshops, and professor coffee chats
- Service – Events meant to give back to the community such as bake sales and community tutoring
Project Cost
- Broken down by total cost of the event. For “scales with chapter size”, these are events that are cost per person (i.e. Bent Polishing), but the cost per person is usually less than $10
Project Attendance
- Usually, the upper limit on what makes the event successful, but a lot of the events can be adapted for different sized chapters.
