Description
Bowling socials are one of Illinois Alpha’s favorite activities. We typically do ours at the Illini Union Rec Room and also rent out some billiard tables as well.

Cost Breakdown
- Option 1 (No Cost): Members cover their own cost to bowl
- Option 2 (Scales with Chapter Size): The chapter can pay for the lane rentals for the event. At IL-A, this usually ends up being ~$5 per person.
Preparation & Administration
- Locate your local bowling lanes and put in a reservation if needed. Also decide if the chapter is paying for the reservation or collect payment from your members.
- Advertise the event to your members and organize transportation if needed
Additional Notes & Resources
- IL-A holds a Bowling/Billiards “Initiate Social” the Saturday after the info sessions, which we require new initiates to attend. It’s a great way for them to meet other initiates right away and ask questions they may not have been able to ask during the info session.
