Description
Since a lot of potential initiates don’t know what Tau Beta Pi is, our chapter designed a display case in Engineering Hall explaining what the organization is. Since the display case is right outside of our office, we’ve seen a lot of people stop to read it, and it has helped increase our presence on campus.

Preparation & Administration
- Find an empty display case on campus and get permission to design a Tau Beta Pi display case
- At UIUC all student organizations with offices automatically get one, but we were able to get a second by asking facilities management
- Order materials (if necessary) and create any chapter-specific materials
- Assemble the display case. This took 2 of our officers about 30 minutes to complete.
Additional Notes & Resources
- In addition to our chapter display case, IL-A also has two additional display cases. One is about Ethel Ricker, the first woman who tried to join TBP in 1903, and the other is about the recipients of the Tau Beta Pi Women’s Badge.
