Description
At the end of each semester, IL-A holds a banquet for all of the members of the chapter. We hold it on the same day as our initiation and End of Semester General Meeting, and it serves as a great way to wrap up the semester.
Materials
None
Cost Breakdown
- Banquet food (~$10-20 per person)
- Place settings & tablecloths if not eating at restaurant (~$100)
Preparation & Administration
- Choose where you will be holding the banquet. If holding it at a restaurant, make sure to put in a reservation. If using another location and catering, reserve the space and order the food.
- IL-A puts out an interest form ~1 month before the banquet to get an estimate of number of attendees, food preferences, etc.
- If you are not holding it at a restaurant, order place settings, tablecloths, decorations, etc.
- Invite members of your chapter. It is also recommended to invite advisors, alumni, and district directors!
- We commonly have a speaker or speakers during the banquet. Reach out to potential speakers before the event and ask if they would be willing to speak. Recently we’ve had our President, Chief Advisor, and Eminent Engineer each give a ~2 minute long speech.
Additional Notes & Resources
- Recently our chapter has been holding the banquet in a room with large projector screens, so we show a slideshow of pictures from the year’s activities during the banquet.
