Project Cost: $0-20

Description

Letters of Love is a nonprofit organization that sends handcrafted letters to children in hospitals across the country. For this event, Tau Beta Pi members gather for a card making session, typically filling a large manilla envelope within the hour.

Materials

  • Paper (printer, construction, or pre-cut cards all work)
  • Markers

Cost Breakdown

  • Paper ($5)
  • Markers ($5)
  • Envelope + Shipping ($5)

Preparation & Administration

  • Purchase enough card materials for all of the attendees. For a rough supply estimate, each volunteer typically makes 3-5 cards in an hour
  • Pick a time and location to meet and advertise it to your chapter members
  • For the cards themselves, make sure they are fun and lighthearted; the organization also requests that you stay away from phrases such as “get well soon”. More information can be found at the website link below.
  • Once the cards are made, put them all in the same envelope and ship them to the address listed below. Since the organization is a nonprofit, it cannot cover shipping costs, so that will be an expense the TBP chapter should cover.
